Dream Wedding Sites!
Finding perfect wedding settings and picking the perfect wedding space and venue can make your day so very special.
Scotland is a country full of beauty, sacred sites and spaces. There are stunning white sandy beaches on the Western Isles to romantic castles settings and stunning mountain views to melt your heart. Glens stretch for miles, loch side views are blissful and weather can be good despite the opinions to the contrary!
Every season brings it’s magic to capture the heart- a place to create that dream wedding. From the bluebells filled woodland settings in spring to carpets of heather and beautiful shades of orange in autumn. The scenery and settings shift and change offering their own magical pallet.
Your Day, Your Way
Your day can include a Celtic theme with ideas galore to create the scene including maybe a Handfasting, sharing a Quaich Cup, or a piper bringing you in.
You can have a wedding which will leave all those attending talking of your special day for years to come.
From Perthshire to Glencoe, and Dumfries to Coldingham there are glens, mountains, beaches, sacred sites and woodland settings which are picture postcard perfect and go on for miles.
Are you getting the picture!
You could maybe even be drawn to marry at one of our famous Standing Stone Circles like Callanish or the banks of the Loch Lomond.
Perfect Island Settings
The Western Islands of Scotland have postcard perfect white beaches which go on for miles. Often they have hardly a soul to be seen except the odd sheep. Temperatures can be mild and maybe even the odd palm tree for those areas in the Gulf stream.
The natives are also very friendly, of that you can be sure and they are always up for a celebration!
There are a wide selection of Hotels to local halls and venues only too willing to help you create your perfect party after maybe a beach ceremony or a ceremony in a glen surrounded by rugged mountain views. Easily accessible Islands include Arran, Gigha and Mull. Those further out are worth the extra mile or so on the ferry.
Another very popular option is to hire a house somewhere which can hold as many as up to 20 or more. You could have an outside space and bring catering in, having folk at hand to take the stress out the day for you.
Scottish laws allow people to marry wherever they want[ within reason] which then widens choices vastly!
East Lothian Wedding Choices!
I stay in beautiful East Lothian which has some perfect spots for a wedding from churches to enclosed wood areas, beaches to magical riverside settings. The area as an example offers up many ideas and venues.
A setting close to me which was used for filming some of the Outlander scenes was Preston Mill! A beautiful riverside mill.
Dunglass Estate in East Lothian is a stunning place to hold a wedding ceremony, set close to Cockburnspath. A very romantic, atmospheric location and they offer catering for after your event. Why not check out their Facebook Page. The team at Dunglass will be only too willing to help with any of your queries.
Another possible option is Ravensheugh Log Cabin set on a cliff top, used in years gone by, by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth it is said. It looks on to Tynninghame Beach below. Views stretch over the sea and a stunning beach to behold, what is not to love!Outside catering is required for this venue.
For service second to none and a real family feel and atmosphere I can recommend The Ravelston House Hotel in Musselburgh. I conducted three weddings there this year and the staff were excellent as was the food. Their manager Dean is a lovely chap who has given a lot of time and energy into helping good causes in the area which says a lot for his character.
We have castles from Tantallon to Dirleton along this coastal area and fishing ports including Dunbar and Port Seaton with beautiful scenery – all ideas which may be worth thinking on and allow your creative juices to flow in making your day a one-off, very special day.
