Hi, I’m Margery!

I am told by friends and family that I am a bubbly person, with a positive outlook and attitude to life along with a good sense of humour!

This sounds about right!

Spending 30 years working as a manager and being part of the staff in the bar trade, life was far from dull through those years! There was always another celebration with birthday parties, charity events, day trips for the elderly, sing songs and more. So many people skills were learnt along the way!

Life for me, as it does, in 2005 took on a whole other turn.

I went on to train in Holistic Therapies and Healing, including Palliative Massage and went on to support various End of Life Charities. I also attended training in Death Midwifery.

Loving all things metaphysical, theological and spiritual I added to my experience and became a teacher holding workshops, retreats and courses and had so many amazing life experiences along the way! Becoming a Health and House Dowser was added in there along the way,

Dowsing, healing, earth energies and sacred sites are all passions of mine. I have held and been part of many a group from the South of England to the Highlands of Scotland gathering in dowsing events and earth energy groups.

Yes, there are many of us out there!

I love being in nature, and I love the magic and mystery Scotland & Britain holds from lochs to glens to rivers and all those Ancients sites we have.

I have loved meeting so many characters and folk over the years in life and in all the roles I have taken on which have led to now. We are a great big melting pot of so many characters and folk.

Of course, it was a very natural addition to train as a Funeral Celebrant over seven years ago, then as a Family & Wedding Celebrant six years ago.

It is a vocation; it is rewarding and a role that constantly changes and shifts and brings so many more folk into my life.

I seem to always gravitate towards people, to celebrations and to offering support to people where I can. It is a role that has been the perfect continuation and addition to life for me.

The story continued when I was ordained a deaconess, travelling to Switzerland, and again this was a natural progression for me.

For me spirituality is far reaching, as are our beliefs whether they be nothing or all kinds of everything.

I honour other people and their thoughts, views and beliefs.

We are all Jock Tamson’s bairns, each with our own unique character, signature and life.

I have now officiated in many full legal ceremonies for couples and families according to those beliefs and feelings.

In the last six years I have travelled all over Scotland holding handfastings, weddings, memorials and funerals and I give each and every one of the ceremonies and services my full attention. There are reviews on the Celebrant Directory from couples on their days which I am also so in awe of after the day if you want to pop over and check them out!

Helping someone organise their wedding, their vow renewal, a handfasting, a destination wedding, a sacred site ceremony, a woodland burial, or a funeral encompasses so much of who I am.

If you want to have a chat to ask me anything, please just get in touch.

What can I say about Margery… she was nothing short of incredible. From day one she was on hand to help make our day special. My wife is Jewish and Margery went over-and-above to ensure that she was thoroughly clued up on so many traditions.

She was able to suggest a couple of lovely Scottish traditions, to help blend my background with my wife’s.

The wedding ceremony itself was beautiful and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, with Margery hitting the perfect balance between funny one-liners and moments of genuine sentimentality and reflection.

Our day was made special by having such a kind, caring and considerate celebrant and I cannot sing Margery’s praises highly enough. Thank you Margery, for giving us the perfect start to married life!

How can we celebrate together?
